DesignedVR & Casiola Announces a Game-Changing Partnership in STR

In an industry where scale often comes at the cost of control, the newly announced partnership between DesignedVR and Casiola offers a refreshing alternative.

In our latest episode, we sat down with Shahar Goldboim, founder of DesignedVR and Boom, and Dennis Goedheid, CEO of Casiola, to learn how this strategic collaboration came together and why it might just inspire a new model for growth in short-term rentals.

Not a Sale. Not a Franchise. Something Smarter.

Shahar built DesignedVR with a strong foundation. As Boom gained momentum and required more of his time, he recognized the need for a partner that could take on the operational responsibilities of DesignedVR with care and competence.

He didn’t want to sell the company or step away entirely. Instead, he began looking for a solution that would keep the business strong while giving him space to focus on Boom. That solution came in the form of a revenue-share partnership with Casiola.

Why Casiola?

Casiola was a natural fit. Dennis and his team brought a clear structure, deep experience in hospitality, and a people-first culture that aligned well with what Shahar had built.

Rather than making quick changes, Casiola took time to understand how the DesignedVR team and systems worked. The transition included keeping the team in place and reviewing operations with fresh eyes.

Dennis believes that being selective with growth is essential. Casiola remains focused on short-term rentals, with no expansion into unrelated services. This focus keeps the brand identity clear and allows the team to build on what they already do well.

Evolving Boom with Real Feedback

Now fully focused on Boom, Shahar is working closely with his team to shape the platform’s direction based on  continuous feedback and real-world experience.

As the world’s first AiPMS, Boom understands the realities of property management and is designed to reduce unnecessary complexity and give operators more time and visibility across their business.

According to Shahar, the product's purpose is to help teams run more efficiently without losing the human touch that defines hospitality.

A Model for Sustainable Growth

This partnership also introduces a model that could benefit other founders in similar situations. It offers a way to maintain involvement in the business while bringing in a team that can take over operations. The revenue-share approach allows owners to stay connected and continue contributing without having to manage every detail.

Shahar and Dennis see this as more than a one-time arrangement. They believe this model can be applied in other markets and may create opportunities for operators who want to shift their role without losing what they’ve built.
